What is Voicemail?

Voicemail takes a caller's message when you can't answer the phone. You'll receive a message-waiting indicator to let you know that a message has been left for you. Basic Voicemail includes:

  • Up to 20 stored messages
  • Up to a 3-minute recording per message

 

To set up your voicemail using your phone:

  1. Enter *VM (*86). or hold down the 1 key
  2. Tap the Call button.
  3. Follow the setup tutorial, which will walk you through selecting a password and recording both a voice signature and greeting for your voice mailbox.

    Note: If you hear your own or a system greeting, you've already set up your voicemail. Tap the # button to interrupt the greeting and follow the prompts to enter your password and retrieve your messages.

Voicemail may not be available in some areas. Your boom! RED voice mailbox is not password protected until you create a password by following the steps listed above. Mobile to Mobile calling minutes do not apply to voicemail retrievals. Airtime usage applies to calls to your voice mailbox from your device.

Airtime usage applies for voicemail setup and retrieval in most areas. Mobile to Mobile calling minutes don't apply to voicemail retrievals; you'll be charged to maintain your connection to voicemail. boom! Mobile is not liable for missed messages, or deletions of messages from your voice mailbox, even if you have saved them.

 

Can I check my voicemail online?

No, we don't currently offer this option.

 

Why isn't my voicemail message indicator working?

Your message indicator won't work if you're outside our network or if your message indicator is turned off. To verify that your voicemail message indicator is on:

  1. Enter *VM (*86) on your phone.
  2. Tap the Call button.
  3. From the Main Menu, tap 4 for Personal Options.
  4. Tap 1 for Message Waiting Indicator On/Off.

You've successfully turned on your message waiting indicator.

 

What happens to my messages when I upgrade from Basic to Visual Voicemail?

All existing messages will be transferred to your new Visual Voice Mailbox. However, we can not guarantee all your messages will transfer. In the event, your messages are not transferred we recommend you back up your audio recordings. boom! Mobile is not responsible for your voicemail contents. 
 

What happens when I change from Visual Voicemail to Basic Voicemail?

When changing from Visual Voicemail to Basic, all existing messages will be transferred. Your standard greetings will be saved but you will lose custom greetings. However, we can not guarantee all your messages will transfer. In the event, your messages are not transferred we recommend you back up your audio recordings. boom! Mobile is not responsible for your voicemail contents.
